To achieve the objective of the study, a field survey of 5000 households belonging to Sahariya tribe, which was the poorest tribe in Rajasthan, was conducted in 43 villages across 4 tehsils (Kishanganj, Shahbad, Atru & Chhabra) of Baran district in Rajsthan. Through the household survey, Indicus captured complete socio-economic-demographic information related to Sahariya tribes. The survey covered issues like household profile, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, government support, expectations from the government and the similar ones that affect the living of the Sahariya households in the region. The survey was completed in less than a month’s time. In the continuation of the survey, Focus group discussions in 10 villages were also conducted by Indicus researchers to probe into qualitative issues that were captured through primary survey.
