Professor Bibek Debroy is an eminent Indian economist, who is currently a Research Professor at the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi. His past positions include the Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies, Consultant to the Department of Economic Affairs of Finance Ministry, Secretary General of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Director of the project LARGE (Legal Adjustments and Reforms for Globalising the Economy). Dr. Subir Gokarn is currently Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India. He has worked as the Chief Economist of CRISIL, and Chief Economist in Asia-Pacific for Standard & Poor's. He has also worked at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai and the National Council of Applied Economic Research in New Delhi, where he was chief economist. He is a columnist for Business Standard and also writes regularly for Asia Insight. Professor Shubhashis Gangopadhyay, one of India’s most authoritative economists, is the founder-director of India Development Foundation. Earlier he had been the adviser to Finance Minister, India and Professor at Indian Statistical Institute. A PhD in Economics from Cornell University, Gangopadhyay has also served at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), Rutgers University (USA) and University of Southern California (USA) Dr. Ashok Desai is Consultant Editor of The Telegraph, and a columnist in Businessworld, India's foremost financial magazine. He served as Chief Consultant in the Finance Ministry from 1991 to 1993, and helped design the early economic reforms. Earlier, he worked as an economist in National Council of Applied Economic Research in Delhi where he carried out policy-oriented industrial studies, especially studies on technology development and transfer. Dr. S L Rao is Chairman, Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore and Distinguished Visiting Fellow at The Energy & Resources Institute, Delhi and Bangalore. He was President, All India Management Association (1985), Executive Chairman, Director-General, NCAER (National Council of Applied Economic Research) 1990-1996 and first Chairman of CERC (Central Electricity Regulatory Commission) 1998-2001. He was a columnist also in the "Economic Times" for 15 years and still writes in the "Telegraph". Professor D.B. Gupta is currently Senior Consultant at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi and Visiting Professor, Institute for Human Development. Prior to this assignment he was Director, Population Research Centre at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi.
